Alright! Here we go! Another update! WOOOOOOOO! We'll talk about a spattering of REALLY COOL THINGS, so let's do it!
First up, per the last update, I successfully navigated the perilous depths of 500 different card mockups and fixed errors, zeroed in on yucky grammar, and made editorial changes on cards that I thought could be punched up. Then I did it again. And then again. AND AGAIN. The revised digital cards are flowing into my inbox as I type... and I'll dive right back in and do it again, and if all goes well, I think we'll be pretty much done with this part of the process. Fingers crossed the mistakes are few and the laughs are many.
Now, on to some fun eye candy. Folks, I am very pumped to show you the final card art for the box set and the expansions! I'm incredibly happy with how they all came together and exist within a visual family. Excuse me while I *squee*!

First off, once again, I'd like to say THANK YOU to all of you for supporting this little endeavor. It's insane that we get to work on this and try to pump out a high-quality, hilariously stupid card game. YOU DAH YOU DAH YOU DAH YOU DAH YOU DAH YOU DAH BEST!
Second off, let me apologize for the gap in updates. These past couple months I've been focusing on editing and proof reading prompts, going back and forth with various artists to nail down our card and box art, and working with a print editor to finesse the prompt side of the cards. What I'm learning in this process is that the little things tend to Voltron together into a bigger thing that just takes more time than expected.
All that said, we've pretty much nailed down our card art for the base game and expansion packs. The box art is very close. We're using an amazing piece of art I commissioned for a Movie Movie Game poster and we're in the process of translating it to the box. We wanted this game to look cool and nifty and different sitting on your shelf. I think I'll start sharing little preview images from the poster to get ya excited and keep you on your anticipatory toes! Here's one now!

I also just received an email with all of the Movie Movie Game prompts on the backs of the cards! Next step is get a bunch of people to read over all of them, look for mistakes (oh boy), and make adjustments where they are needed. HERE'S A PEEK!

How could I, in good CONSCIENCE, let that get through?!?
After we do that, finalize the base and expansion box art, and bust out some instructions to lovingly pack in with the game, we'll be off to production! I'm hoping to be doing this as soon as possible. Fingers crossed. I got a lot of cards to read. In the next update I'll hopefully be able to share (tease... idk) the finalized cards and some more poster/box art.
Also, one of the more frequent questions we've received is "HOW DO WE UPDATE OUR ADDRESS?" Do not fret, you'll get the opportunity when we are about to send off to manufacturing. A survey will be sent out to everyone, with multiple notifications, and enough advanced time that you won't miss the window.

Step by step, day by day...
Hey friends! Quick update! The editing and self-flagellating of the "ALL OF THE SO MANY WORDS OH MY GOD HOW ARE THERE SO MANY WORDS" has been going swell. It's amazing how often one simply forgets to include important letters in words that very much need the aforementioned letters. I've also reached out to a very talented artist by the name of Casey Landerkin to work on an extra special little something. More on that in the future. As for the present, I wanted to drop a couple of videos we recently released that put a fun spin on the game. Big props to Scott Passarella for helping me with the music on these babies and Kevin Plachy for editing up some wonderful videos. just spewin' prompts
Hello everyone! I am temporally emerging from this creative cocoon to provide some updates on the progress. So, after months of keeping my head down and slamming movies and games and television shows together, I have officially created 500 prompts (way more if we include all the duplicates, all the ones that didn't make the cut, and etc.). For those that are counting, that's:
500 hybrid synopses
500 title combos
800 movies
100 video games
100 television shows
1000 hints
1000 reasons to look up movie release dates
The journey has been far more laborious than I initially expected BUT also rewarding. I've certainly picked up some FUN FACTS during this creative process. Like... do you know how many people were originally considered for the role of Judge Doom in Roger Rabbit? DO YA!?!? It's crazy. We're talking Robin Williams, Sting, John Malkovich, Willem Dafoe, Tim Robbins, Michael Keaton, Robert DeNiro, Jeff Goldblum, Tommy Lee Jones and SO MANY MORE NAMES THAT YOU WOULD KNOW. Tim Curry auditioned but was thought to be TOO SCARY for the part.
Anyways, now we move on to the first round of edits to attempt to find all the grammar and spelling mistakes. We'll also appease the self-hate demon inside our heads and figure out which prompts straight up suck.

We are also busy finalizing art and text formatting for the cards. This is the trying on dresses part. Seeing what fits! We're working with a graphic designer that specialized in formatting newspapers back in the day, so she's got an eye for text placement that makes readability and understanding priorities when moving around all these juicy words.

And finally, in the last update we posted Part One of our SCI-FI MOVIE game video with Hank Green, The Willems, and Malcolm Barrett. I'll post PART TWO in this update ANNNNNNNND also inform you that I just finished filming a new batch that I am very excited about due to a new TWIST that gets my giggles going. Contestants will be: Sarah Whittle from SMOSH, Brock "the man of a billion voices" Baker, Matt Bennett from the TV show Victorious, and the one and only Grace Helbig. It's good times!
